Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility

  • The giveaway is open to UK residents aged 18 or over unless otherwise stated in the giveaway post.
    Employees of Novella, its subsidiaries, and immediate family members or anyone professionally connected with the giveaway are not eligible to participate.
  • Entrants must have a valid public or viewable Instagram account and comply with Instagram’s Terms of Use.
  • No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.

2. How to Enter

  • Entry instructions will be stated clearly in the giveaway post and may include:
  • Following the @Novella Instagram account
  • Submitting an original image by posting to Instagram, tagging @Novella, and/or using the specified hashtag(s)
  • Entries that are incomplete, inaccessible, contain inappropriate material, or breach Instagram’s Community Guidelines will be disqualified
  • Only entries received during the giveaway period stated in the post will be counted.

3. Submission Requirements

  • Images must be entirely the entrant’s own work and must not infringe any third-party rights, including copyright, trademarks, or privacy right.
  • Entrants must obtain permission from anyone identifiable in their submitted image before entering.
  • Offensive, unlawful, harmful, or defamatory content will result in immediate disqualification.


4. Intellectual Property and Usage Rights

  • Entrants retain full copyright over their submitted images
  • By entering, entrants grant Novella a non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish, display, and share the images for marketing and promotional purposes, including reposting on Novella’s social media channels and website.
  • No monetary compensation will be provided for this usage unless expressly stated.

5. Winner Selection

  • Winner(s) will be chosen based on the criteria outlined in the giveaway post (e.g., creativity, judge selection, random draw).
  • Novella’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Winner(s) will be notified via Instagram Direct Message from the official @Novella account.
  • If the winner does not respond within 72 hours, Novella reserves the right to select an alternative winner.


6. Prizes

  • Prize details will be clearly stated in the giveaway post.
  • Prizes are non-transferable, non-returnable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or other alternatives.
  • Novella accepts no responsibility for lost, damaged, or delayed prizes once dispatched.


7. Instagram Disclaimer

  • This giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram.
  • By entering, participants release Instagram from all responsibilities related to the giveaway.

8. Personal Data & Privacy (UK GDPR Compliance)

  • Personal data will be processed in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and applicable data protection laws.
  • Data collected will be used solely for the purpose of administering the giveaway and arranging prize fulfilment.
  • Personal information will not be shared with third parties unless required for prize delivery or unless legally required.
  • Entrants may request access, correction, or deletion of their data by contacting Novella at (email/contact).

9. Limitation of Liability

Novella is not responsible for:

  • technical failures, interruptions, or unavailable network systems;
  • lost, delayed, or corrupted entries;
  • or any injury, loss, or damage resulting from participation or prize use, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
  • Nothing in these terms limits Novella’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Modification or Cancellation

  • Novella reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the giveaway where reasonably necessary (e.g., technical failure, fraud, or events outside its control).
  • Any changes will be communicated via an updated Instagram post or Story.

11. Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions and any disputes arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
  • The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
